Bridget During Breakfast

Folgers Coffee Cardboard Box, Scotch Tape, Thomas English Muffins Cardboard Box
_____
A vignette of daily life, this painting is a quick study of my surroundings. The subject is one of my roommates, situated in our shared interior space. The marks are made swiftly, speaking to a comfort and intimacy acquired during months of lockdown spent in the same space. The base of the painting are discarded boxes of some of the items the two of us share during breakfast. These boxes serve to remind of the small ways in which life goes on in a pandemic, and speak again to our forced cohabitation and the shared intimacy of a silent breakfast in the morning.
